meal in the morning

Postby andersonx5 » March 28th, 2011, 10:30 am

With 3 kids to get up and off to school, eating within 30 minutes of waking is really tough. I have been waking, immediately drinking a large glass of ice water and then a "Doctors Best Weight Loss" protein drink - 15g protein. Does anyone know if these drinks are acceptable? I have been following the diet for a week and half and have only seen 1.5lb weight loss. Wondering if this drink could be hurting me.

I'm no expert but it seems to have fructose, maltodextrin and stevia in it with 4 sugars so it's not the best thing to have as the fructose is a no no for the insulin spike.

Anyone have suggestions for quick protein in the morning? Something I don't have to fuss with while getting my kids up and off to school.

I do a protein shake every morning and have seen great success on the diet. I'm using GNC Pro Performance AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60.

I've been doing boiled eggs, which are super easy to eat even on the run. And they've got other advantages; TF states on page 89 of 4HB that studies show that "eating eggs results in more fat-loss and increased basal metabolism." He goes on to talk about choline in egg yolks, which he says "helps protect the liver and increases fat-loss."

I go for the boiled eggs in the morning too when I'm getting close to that 30 minute mark.

I can scramble three eggs in about 2 minutes or less. Throw some spinach in while you're at it, adds another 30 seconds to cook.

If you want a protein drink, I really like the taste of Syntha-6 and it's a pretty high quality "meal replacement" protein shake with approx 30g protein when mixed with 8oz of skim milk. It's expensive, but pretty much the gold standard for the taste/nutrition tradeoff. Just slightly more than $1 per serving, plus the cost of the milk.

D'oh. Forgot that...well, it's still 22g w/water. I use milk because I'm a hard gainer and need a "fixer" (GOMAD baby!)
